Quelle est cette langueur qui pénètre mon cÅ?ur

A long dry spell in a distant city is ended by an unimaginable vacation at home.

First post as a resident of the District of Columbia

Halloween sky from bedroom window, Washington D.C.
Long time no see--

New place, new routine; graduate school is mighty preoccupying, but I so greatly miss the time to browse everyones esthetic eyes.

Good night, all.

To your comment: I found the Calvin sticker in a cheesy T-shirt and souvenir shop in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The rest of the sticker had the words, "Life Is Short / Play Naked" but I thought that was stupid and that Calvin speaks for himself just by being himself. Cheers!

Isolated thundershower

Crossing from I-630 to 30, the crown of UALR Law School obstructs the view of the sky opening up over the city.

I move to Washington D.C. in 48 hours.

Yesterday was the last home game of the Arkansas Travelers. I feel guilty for having lost track of the team during the past two years, but I'm also pretty certain that my reignited interest is a sentimental affect of my coming move (pause, look toward camera)

...which is happening in SEVEN DAYS

(regains composure, straightens tie)... but it felt good to get back into Ray Winder Field again. I went with Becky and Brett (who were my childhood neighbors and best friends for almost thirteen years) and his girlfriend, and we laughed and drank and conversated as if we hadn't missed a single temporal beat.

We had to get out and enjoy this amazingly cool weather. Wheras our local July average is somewhere around the one hundred degree mark (with nights humidly hovering in the mid-eighties), we've been having nights as refreshingly cool as 56ºF, and days that peak below eighty! That is absolute baseball weather.

My mom and sister came into the city on Friday and we met for lunch, where I caught my niece growing actively bored with our dull grown-up things.

73°, mostly sunny, 69% humidity, wind from the east northeast at 6 mph.

On days like this, it is an absolute sin to work. The body needs to be out of doors, dozing on the grass, under the shade of oak trees, smiling to the sound of gravel crunching underfoot. Boo, work, boo, hiss!
